The portal on the left hand end of tunnel corner has been rebuilt, this time with some embankment leading to it:
and a similar structure (lower right) added to Viaduct Corner, though this one doesn’t lead anywhere…
The tunnel portals for the future narrow gauge line have been added
And this is the other tunnel portal for the narrow gauge line:
One day, these two portals will be connected by track “hidden” in the store.
A tunnel has been added at the “country” end of the layout. Unfortunately, this won’t ever go anywhere as the wall leads to fresh air 30′ up…
And with the first stage of a hill around the tunnel
And with some ‘grass’ on the hill
The first section of landscaping has been added to this corner of the layout
The blocks to the left of the viaduct are stuck on a removable “wall” to ease access for construction.
We’ve (well, mainly my artistic daughter) have been experimenting with creating realistic hills using insulation board. The normal method is to use a plaster covered bandage for the surface, but this hill has been done by simply scratching away the insulation board and adding paint, ink and scatter.
