The country station has been revised, with a new platform and station area, complete with steps.
The platform has been built using the same method as used for the main station platform rebuild (see New Main Platforms for details).
The revised arrangement has allowed the front of the station office to be finally visible.
I build a smaller warehouse as one of the first attempts to improve the canal basin area, but it wasn’t right there .
Rather than bin it, it’s now in the goods yard by the main station.
I was pleased with the results of the canal basin rebuilding, but the area the other side of the warehouse left much to be desired!
In the end, the best solution seemed to be to build yet another low relief warehouse to fill the space.
There will be a buffer stop at the end of that siding as soon as Ebay deliver!
I was never fully happy with the canal basin, so have spent the last week or two redesigning and rebuilding the entire area.
This is the area with no buildings:
A low relief warehouse and a new custom warehouse with an angled tunnel through it has been built. In this photo, the platform hasn’t been finished:
This is the platform finished off, with some lights in the main warehouse:
On the other side of the main warehouse, the far siding has been cut back, and more low relief warehouses have been added:
This is an overall view of the area:
As with all these things, there is still much to be done, but at least the core stuff is now place.
