The Wheeler Model Railway

The second set of shelves have now been constructed, again with a track bed on top.

Joining the two main shelves is a narrow “ramp”, which climbs 40mm over the distance. Let’s hope the trains can cope with this…

Once the junk from the old TV table had been moved to the new shelves, the second baseboard could be constructed. This sits on a similar frame to the first baseboards. Again, the edges will eventually be covered by a pine moulding.

 

Now the baseboards are added to the shelves.

The front edge will (eventually) be covered with a moulded pin strip.

 

The first changes for the railway have started…

The notches are for the (eventual) wires to be added under the baseboards.
